I guess I counted my chickens before they hatched because I did NOT come in last place for the East Bay Triple Crown this year. Someone managed to run 13 miles instead of 9 yesterday at Woodminster to totally steal my Unvictory from under my nose. That leaves me in Sweet #16 (out of 17) in the Women’s Open Division (under 50).
The complete results are here in PDF form: triplecrown_2012-results_finaltopost
Open winners: Jack Wallace with 2:35:00 and Johanna Thomas with 2:44:21. The times reflect the combined total from the Lake Chabot Trail Challenge and the Woodminster Race. Tilden Tough Ten didn’t count because of the mis-marked course debacle.
Some stats:
Total of 52 participants in 4 categories.
Oldest participant: Suksoo Hwang, 69, of Pinole, CA.
Youngest participant: Jared Chan, 11, of Sunnyvale, CA.
Congrats to the winners and all of the participants!!
That’s kind of strange. I wonder how they verified her 13 miles.
Yeah, it’s strange. She’s not on the official finishers list either. Maybe she got lost and they went with the data on her Garmin?
Hi. Yes, this was me (yay…). I had a GPS system (which, unfortunately didn’t help me find the right trails when I was lost). There were 3 other unfortunate runners who were lost with me.
Congrats, Jen, and sorry to take away your Un-Victory! See you next year.
Hi Priya! Thanks for stopping by and clarifying the situation. It’s crazy that four of you got lost — but I guess that’s part of the “charm” of trail racing.
Good for you for pushing through, and congrats on completing the Triple Crown!
Woo-hoo! Congratulations on completing the triple crown. That’s awesome! The woodminster hill looks monstrous.
Thanks, Kira! Wish you could’ve been there.
